Magnificent 18th century painted corner cupboard dated 1789 dimensions about 28" x 15" x 43" description wonderful paint decorated corner cupboard. Scandinavian origin, either swedish or norwegian. Dated "1789" on the front door. Recessed painted tombstone arch panels. Lower drawer with wooden knob. Applied painted tear drops beneath the overhanging cornice. Hand painted floral and foliate decorations in the panels, all on a mottled reddish background. Cream color painted interior. Wrought iron door hinges. Rough planed back boards with clearly visible ridges from hand planing.
