Classic 19th -century American salt-glazed, semi-ovid utility jug. This jug has been in the family for several generations. It is a Classic 19th -century American salt-glazed, semi-ovid utility jug. The deep-impressed “W” stamp on the shoulder serves a a 1-gallon capacity mark (representing “1” historically stylized or inverted as a “W” stamp by certain potters or referring to a specific regional maker like Wands of Lean, NY or White’s of Utica). The jug is approximately 11 1/2" tall and 6 3/4" diameter. It has a slight mark on the side that possibly could be from a small stone or BB.
