Freon needs to be removed from the condenser unit in a 1970s Carrier central air-type air conditioner; unit was working fine, then taken out of service when we upgraded to a mini-split system. Believe it is R22 Freon, since that is referred to in the AC unit manual. Please respond only if you have the tools and know-how to remove the freon properly. The freon lines go from the condenser unit outside to the evaporator in the heating system inside the building. The freon needs to be removed safely before the air conditioner can be removed. Best times to remove it would be Mon-Fri 9:30am-5:00pm.
